Backlog Map

Engage stakeholders with a more informative and understandable backlog

Engage stakeholders in the backlog by making it more comprehensible and providing them with a business perspective that they recognise.

Don’t rely on dull one-dimensional backlogs.  This four dimensional display shows; time, business area, state and size of work items. Click on an item to edit it.

Clearly see areas of past and future focus. Identify user stories that are in the wrong place.

Backlog by time and business perspective

Multi-dimensional backlog shows the time down the left-hand side (using iterations), whilst showing ‘the business’ a more familiar view, with either Area Paths or Tags (along the x-axis).

Each of the blobs on the chart, represents an issue / work item. The colour shows the state on the board whilst the size is the relative size.

Use the chart options to switch between showing the work as blobs or summarised in pie charts.

SenseAdapt is ‘actionable’ so you can drill into the items within the chart. Something that is NOT possible with other visualisations.

Filter down to the items you want to focus on

Rapidly filter the chart by selecting states at the top. A quick way to see what work is currently ‘in progress’ or is about to be started.

This is a good way to show items that are in the wrong place. Some items that have fallen into the root directory and will not be showing up in the key metrics.
